Following a lifetime of various artistic endeavors and a 30-year career in computer science, Carole McNamee retired and reinvented herself as a marriage and family therapist with a special interest in the therapeutic use of the expressive arts. In 2005, she founded Willowbank Creative Center in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she had a private practice and facilitated workshops using the expressive arts for healing and personal growth.
She has given presentations and workshops at the School of Visual Arts in New York City, the American Art Therapy Association, and for the Institute for Creativity and Madness in Bethesda, MD as well as other regional and national venues.
Following a second retirement in 2015 and move to Sudbury, MA to be closer to family, Carole is now fully focusing on her own artistic endeavors. Her work has appeared in regional and national shows as well as 6 Bridges Gallery in Maynard, MA. She is a member of the ArtSpace community in Maynard and has recently led classes at LLAIC, a lifelong learning program in Wayland, MA.
