Spring Art Fair 2024

Call for Artists

DATE:  Saturday, June 8, 2024   Rain date Sunday, June 9

TIME:  10am - 4pm

LOCATION: 29 Hudson, Sudbury MA on the grounds surrounding the building.

PARKING:  Vendor parking will be behind Town Hall, a short walk from the venue. Customer parking will be in the parking lot behind the central building.

FEE:  There is a $30 space-holding fee. The $30 will be refunded to artists who participate in the show. Please pay the fee by check or Paypal so we can refund you after participation. If you are not currently a member, you need to join SAA and then you can apply.

WHAT CAN I SELL?  Art is the priority for sales. Many artists dabble in multiple mediums, so you are welcome to sell any of your artwork, no matter the medium. Only original work by the artist is allowed to be sold.

HOW MANY ARTISTS?  We can accommodate a maximum of 28 tents and/or spaces. Each artist will have an assigned 10’x10’ space. If you don’t need this much space, please make a note on the application.

CAN TWO ARTISTS SHARE A TENT?  Yes. The $30.00 holding fee will apply to each artist.

CAN I SELL ANOTHER SAA MEMBER’S ART IF THEY CAN’T ATTEND?  Yes, as long as they are a member and have paid the $30 holding fee.

IS THERE A LIMIT ON THE SAME MEDIUM? In order to fully represent SAA there may be a limit on each medium, so sign up early!

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:  Artists are responsible for their own setup (tables, display, chairs). There is little shade at this venue so tents are recommended but not required.

SALES:  Each artist is responsible for their own sales. We recommend considering Venmo, Paypal or Square for your smartphone for processing credit cards.

SET-UP:  Each artist must be completely set up and ready to sell by 10 am the morning of the event. The front parking lot is right next to where the fair will be, so you will be able to drop off all of your equipment and artwork very close to the spaces. Once you have completed unloading, you must move your car to the large lot behind Town Hall before returning to complete your setup. Consideration of your fellow artists and patrons of 29 Hudson is expected.

Setup will begin at 8 am.  Again, everyone must be ready to go by 10 AM when the event opens to the public.

While we know activity may slow down towards the end of the day, it is a requirement of participation that there will be no breaking down of your setup before 4:00.  If you feel you cannot stay until four, then we ask that you forego participating in this event.

DEADLINE TO SIGN UP: May 8, 2023

ADVERTISING:  Each participating artist is encouraged to email their contact list and post on social media to promote the fair. We will advertise on our webpage, our social media sites, and have yard signs.

Of course, we want to reach as many of our patrons/customers as possible, so you will be required to sign up and distribute postcards and yard signs. We’d all like a big turnout for this event!

When you apply, you will be asked to include 1-3 pictures that represent your artwork for the website and social media. The committee will select what will be used.
