Holiday Market Jobs

NOTE: this information is not completely up-to-date as of Nov. 4th, 2025 but will give you a good idea of the jobs

Everyone who participates in the Holiday Market needs to help out by doing a number of jobs (We’re trying to figure out how to break this down fairly). We have divided the jobs into categories. Click on the names for a more detailed breakdown. We hope that members volunteer in a number of different subcommittees so that everyone has a feel for how this works and can contribute in different ways to make HM better each year.

HM Jobs: Behind the Scenes (Click Here)

  • Types of Jobs: Find store location. Set up email/dropbox/job signup/paypal links/website. Major decisions about operations.

HM Jobs: Setup (Click here)

  • Types of Jobs: Clean the store, move items from storage, set up check-out area, decorations, set up music system, lay out space for artists.

HM Jobs: Pre-start (Click here)

  • Types of Jobs: Preparing inventory binder, phone list, cashout envelops. Creating and getting printed our yearly postcard

HM Jobs: Marketing (click Here)

  • Types of Jobs: Submitting articles/posts to free sites, manage/distribute postcards & signs, sending emails to SAA mailing list

  • Types of Jobs: Daily posting to Facebook & Instagram, Making videos for Advertising, Facebook/Instagram Advertising

HM Jobs: Finance (click Here)

  • Types of Jobs: Set up/manage budget, manage and pay expenses, manage cash, purchase gift cards, manage and reconcile daily sales…

HM Jobs: Visiting Artist and special Events (click Here)

  • Types of Jobs: Set up and manage different events we run such as Opening Eve party, raffle to benefit scholarship, open house, coordinating Visiting Artists if we have them, other situations that pop up. If we have enough room, we might have other special events such as musicans, Girl Scouts, book signing, artist demos.

  • Types of Jobs: Take down of decorations, lights, etc. Cleaning the space and moving stuff to storage for the following year
